Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Eastleigh
Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Learning Support to join a welcoming and inclusive school environment in Eastleigh. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who require tailored support to thrive in their educational journey.

About the Role:

As an SEN Learning Support, you will work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to deliver individualised learning support to pupils with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. Your presence will play a crucial role in ensuring all learners have the opportunity to succeed both academically and socially.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
  • Promote a positive, respectful and safe learning environment
  • Support the development of pupils’ social skills and confidence
  • Liaise with teaching staff, parents and external professionals

Job Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational setting
  • A caring, patient and resilient nature
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided)
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or similar) is desirable
  • Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD, etc.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
