Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hove
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to join a dedicated specialist school in Hove, East Sussex. The role offers a chance to make a real impact, whether you're coming from an education setting or have experience in care or support roles.

The Role:
You’ll assist students with complex learning needs, providing both academic and emotional support. Some pupils may require personal care or help managing behaviours, and you’ll play a key role in helping them access the curriculum and build confidence.

If you’ve worked as a:

  • Support Worker

  • Youth Mentor

  • Care Assistant

  • Residential Support Staff

  • Or similar care-based role

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support in small groups or 1:1 settings

  • Help implement education plans and promote positive behaviour

  • Support students with communication, movement, and daily routines

  • Build trusted relationships with staff and pupils

  • Deliver inclusive, student-focused support

Requirements:

  • Some experience supporting individuals with additional needs

  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach

  • Ability to follow school policies and respond to student needs

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply)

  • A current and detailed CV
