Co-Head Teacher

Location: Lewisham
Salary: £250 - £350 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education London are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Co-Head Teacher to join a school in Lewisham on a long-term or permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional educational leader to work collaboratively in driving school improvement, promoting high standards of teaching and learning, and creating a positive environment where both students and staff can thrive.

As a Co-Head Teacher, you will work alongside the senior leadership team to provide strategic direction, oversee the day-to-day management of the school, and ensure the highest standards of education, safeguarding, and student wellbeing. This role requires an inspirational leader who is committed to raising achievement and fostering an inclusive, supportive school culture.

Key Responsibilities of a Co-Head Teacher:

  • Provide strategic leadership to support the school's vision, values, and long-term objectives.
  • Lead and inspire teaching and support staff to deliver high-quality education.
  • Monitor and drive improvements in teaching, learning, behaviour, and student outcomes.
  • Support the effective day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage staff performance, professional development, and wellbeing.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, governors, and external agencies.
  • Contribute to school improvement planning, self-evaluation, and quality assurance.

Key Requirements of a Co-Head Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Significant leadership experience and qualification within a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Proven ability to lead school improvement and raise educational standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum, safeguarding, and school leadership responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead staff while maintaining high expectations.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding educational experiences and promoting student wellbeing.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
