SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southgate, Enfield
Hours: 8:15am – 3:45pm
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long Term / Full Time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school located in Southgate, Enfield. This long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASD) and other learning differences.

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.

  • Support pupils’ social and emotional development through patience and understanding.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure consistent progress.

  • Help implement behaviour management strategies and maintain clear communication with staff and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism (ASD).

  • A positive, resilient, and nurturing personality.

  • Ability to follow school policies and work well as part of a team.

  • Comfortable assisting with personal care (including nappy changing, if required).

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
