I am currently looking for Read Write Inc Teaching Assistants to work at a 2 Form Entry Primary School in Coventry. With the view for the role to become long-term- the school requires a 1:1 and small group teaching assistant to provide Phonics/ Reading/ Writing intervention sessions outside of the classroom. Initially, this will start on a bank/ supply basis. Should they find the right candidate there is the potential for this role to become long-term.

This role is to start from September 2020.  

Your role will include:  

  • Supporting low ability/ gifted and talented pupils on a 1:1 and/or small group basis  

  • Practice and guide children with pronunciation, reading, and writing 

  • Preparing children for Phonics/ Reading/ Writing Assessments  

  • Assess pupil progress and support the teacher to develop learning targets 

  • Manage pupil behaviour and ensure that they are on task at all times  

  • Monitoring pupil behaviours and record any obstacles in the child’s learning.  

The ideal candidate: 

  • The ideal candidate will have experience supporting on a 1:1 and a small group basis.  

  • Will be Read Write Inc Trained or Experienced 

  • Will have experience working across Reception-KS1.  

  • Will have GCSEs grades A*-C  

  • Will have school-based or personal experience working with low ability/ SEN groups 

  • Will hold a DBS which is on the Update Service (if you do not have one, you will be able to apply for a new DBS through GSL Education)  

  • Is willing to work on a Supply Basis and would be happy to go onto a long term contract should need to arise.

GSL Education is currently looking to appoint an experienced Behaviour Mentor at one of our secondary schools in North London.

The school is looking for someone who has experience working with individuals and small groups of children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Due to the students having SEMH (and additional challenging behaviour), this role would suit someone who is able to build a strong rapport with young people and children, resilient, doesn’t take things personally, calm and able to deescalate a situation. You would be working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and at times within small groups.

The successful individual must have the ability to motivate students and achieve excellent results and have the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a successful team.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor.
  • Improve the behaviour and wellbeing of individual pupils.
  • Support pupils who are experiencing learning difficulties
  • Be able to establish meaningful positive relationships quickly;
  • Supporting pupils inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Helping pupils to increase their confidence and self-esteem by listening to them and devising appropriate strategies.

GSL Education are currently looking for Cover Supervisors and Unqualified Teachers to work at a number of Secondary Schools across Leicestershire from September.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with planning, assessments and marking.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons independently during the class teacher’s absence 
  • Ensuring that the children are always in a safe learning environment 
  • Providing 1:1 and small group booster sessions within and out of the classroom
  • Cover PPA periods
  • Being creative with wall and classroom displays

Initially, this is to start on a bank/ supply basis, however, there is potential for this to become a long term role for the right candidate.

  • A valid right to work document
  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (we can provide details on how to apply for one if you don’t already have it.)
  • 2 proof of address (addressed to yourself within the last 3 months)

Interested applicants must have experience working with SIMS system. This exciting opportunity is available on a full-time basis Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm.

We are looking for:

  • Someone with exceptional organisational skills with proficient numeracy, literacy and IT skills
  • Someone has experience using SIMS package
  • Confident to make home visits to parents
  • Administer first aid / supervise during the student lunch break.
  • Provide exceptional levels of customer service to pupils, parents and staff.

Candidates will be expected to:

  • Responsibility for the administration of student attendance within SIMS
  • Ensure all registers are completed and no missing marks or unexplained absences remain
  • To follow up on staff for missing registers as necessary
  • Responsible for the daily update of systems with reasons for absence, contact home for unknown absences, messaging regarding lateness to school
  • To check the accuracy of registers and, where necessary classes, to ensure absent students are genuinely absent
