Pay Rate: £120 per day

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join a supportive school community in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the school.
About the Role
As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the general upkeep, safety, and security of the school premises. You will work closely with school staff to ensure the environment is clean, safe, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities of Caretaker
- Opening and Closing the School: Ensure the school is securely opened in the morning and locked at the end of the day.
- Fire Alarm Systems: Responsible for activating and deactivating fire alarms and conducting routine checks to ensure they are fully operational.
- Repair and Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs, general maintenance, and liaise with contractors for larger works.
- Health & Safety: Monitor and maintain health and safety standards across the premises.
- Site Security: Ensure the site is secure at all times, including monitoring access and reporting any concerns.
- Support School Events: Assist with setting up and clearing away for school functions and activities.
Requirements of Caretaker
- Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities role is desirable.
- Strong practical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for all.
