Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Hayling Island
Salary Range: £13.68- £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a flexible and skilled Teaching Assistant to join a lively and forward-thinking school in Hayling Island. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting students’ learning and helping them reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will be confident, caring, and able to build positive relationships with students of varying needs and abilities. Your role will involve assisting with lesson preparation, providing tailored support to individuals or small groups, and helping to maintain a focused and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and providing additional classroom support.
- Support students with their learning on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
- Encourage student participation and confidence in the classroom.
- Help maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
- Support students with literacy, numeracy, and other key curriculum areas.
- Assist with behaviour management and student well-being.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to meet the needs of all learners.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
- A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is beneficial but not essential.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to support students effectively.
- A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to working with children.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
