Geography Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
GSL Education are seeking passionate and qualified Geography Teachers to join our client secondary schools in York, North Yorkshire and surrounding areas from September 2025. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to begin their journey in a supportive and professional environment.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality and engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan and implement schemes of work that inspire curiosity and deepen understanding of the subject.
- Develop appropriate assessments to track student progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Geography Teacher requirements:
- Have Qualified Status Teacher (QTS) through a PGCE in Secondary Geography, B.Ed. with QTS or equivalent.
- Recent experience teaching GCSE Geography (within the last 2 years); A-Level experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Be able to provide relevant references from within the last 2 years. Placements for ECTs will be accepted.
- Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
- To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
- To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
