Full-Time English Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

GSL Education are currently recruiting for an English Teacher at a well-established school in Southampton. This exciting opportunity starts in September 2025 and offers a competitive salary between £30,000 and £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience. The position is open to both experienced educators and Early Careers Teachers, with interviews set to take place over the coming weeks. A school tour will be offered prior to a formal interview, giving candidates the opportunity to get a feel for the environment and meet the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across key stages.
- Support students in developing strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
- Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities.
- Create a classroom environment that promotes high expectations and mutual respect.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Previous experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level.
- Specialism or strong subject knowledge in English Language.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Suitable for both newly qualified and experienced teachers.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisation skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps).
