SEMH Teacher

Location: Doncaster

Pay Scale: £150 to £200 per day

Start: ASAP

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated individual as SEMH Teacher to join our client schools in Doncaster. Through this role your efforts can have a profound impact on students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Job summary:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering tailored education plans to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will involve creating an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver personalized lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff and specialists.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH.
  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective teaching strategies.
  • An updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
