Role: Learning MentorLocation: Camden
Start Date: Immediately
Pay Rate: £75 to £90 day*
GSL Education are seeking successful Learning Mentor to work within our client schools in Camden from Immediately.
Essential requirements to be successful in the role are:
- Hold very high expectations of yourself and others (behaviours etc), acting as a positive behaviour role model, with the ability to reflect on own practice and to always seek self-improvement.
- Resilient, committed, and a hard worker – able to keep going in the face of adversity and never giving up.
- Minimum of one year's experience working directly with high risk and complex pupils in a recognised social work, youth work or education setting, including neurodiverse young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) or those labelled as demonstrating challenging behaviour.
- Clear understanding and knowledge of the National Curriculum, teaching, assessment and behaviour management strategies that facilitate effective learning and progress.
- Hold Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at level two or above (or equivalent qualifications).
As a successful Learning Mentor, you should:
- Be an enthusiastic educator with a dedication to supporting vulnerable young people.
- Have strong behaviour management skills and be confident towards managing challenging behaviour.
- Have experience supporting young people with autism, learning difficulties and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Have a child only DBS on the Update Service or be willing to make an application through GSL.
