GSL Education is currently looking for an Autism Learning Support Assistant for an outstanding SEN School in Redbridge. The role will entail supporting the class teacher and working with a variety of pupils from primary and secondary age range.

The school believes in supporting learners with a range of special needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, Speech & Language Communicational Needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Hearing Impairment.

We welcome applicants who have a relevant qualification within Autism however proven experience without the qualification can be just as valuable.

We run a very busy day to day supply desk- as well as getting long-term positions through, and require strong, reliable and experienced Cover Supervisors immediately. The role of a Cover Supervisor involves: -Sole responsibility for supervising classes and issuing work that has been set by the absent class teacher; -Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking their work, to ensure a constructive environment; -Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures; -Dealing with any immediate problems according to the school's policies and procedures; -Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher; -Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising. Although the role of a Cover Supervisor does not require any specific qualifications, experience working with young people and strong behaviour management is vital!
