The role entails supporting pupils, who have been identified as under achieving, on both an intensive 1:1 basis and with groups of pupils who have a similar level of ability or attainment in the relevant subject area. This will usually mean spending no more than 1 hour per day with each pupil or group of pupils, following an agreed plan of work in order to help the child grasp particluar cocepts, worth through the ares they need support with and increase their attainment overall.
