GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Secondary Behaviour School based on the outskirts of Nuneaton. The school caters for Children and Young People with Autism, Complex Needs, SEMH, Attachment Disorder, Challenging Behaviour and LAC.

As a 1:1 TA your responsibilities include encouraging concentration in lessons, managing behaviour and to enhance pupil attainment levels. You will also be required to support on a 1:1/ small group as well as whole class basis.

You will also be required to deliver Behaviour, Numeracy, Literacy and Social Interventions. This will be on a 1:1 and group basis.

You will be required to support the class teacher to plan and assess pupil progress and develop creative displays to showcase the children’s work.  You will need to ensure that children are safeguarded at all times by running risk assessments before school starts and when school finishes.

Qualified teaching assistants, graduates and fully qualified teachers looking for TA/ LSA work are encouraged to apply. 

Applicants with additional skills including (but not limited to) Makaton, Team Teach, PECS, and British Sign Language are extremely sought after.

The role is due, to begin with, immediate effect and is offered on a full-time, all year round basis comprising the following hours; 8 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday.

Main Purpose of Job

  • To act as a central supporting role for staff.
  • Ensure an effective and responsive administration service is provided to all staff, partners, and visitors

GSL Education are seeking teaching assistants to work with primary pupils who require support in subject areas such as Numeracy & Literacy; in particular to work with children within year 2 and year 6 in the build up to their SATs.  The role entails supporting pupils, who have been identified as under achieving, on both an intensive 1:1 basis and with groups of pupils who have a similar level of ability or attainment in the relevant subject area.  This will usually mean spending no more than 1 hour per day with each pupil or group of pupils, following an agreed plan of work in order to help the child grasp particluar cocepts, worth through the ares they need support with and increase their attainment overall.

Schools across Leicester and Leicestershire county have already begun organising the type of intervention they would like to do and we have roles available to start after the half term break.

This type of role will suit Teaching Assistants with a good understanding of the national curriculum or graduates within English and Maths who may be seeking a temporary role or simply wishing to make a direct tangible difference to pupils in a short space of time.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with planning, monitoring and delivering creative lessons
  • Acting as a positive role model and managing behaviour
  • Providing 1:1 and small group Maths, English, Science and behaviour interventions.
  • Ensuring a safe learning environment and approaching education with a child centered approach. 
  • Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher

Immediate Start

£65- £80 a day (dependant on role and experience)

The role is to initially start on a Bank/ Supply basis to become long term/ permanent for the right candidate

The school itself caters for children and young people aged 5-13 with various learning needs including: Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Attachment Disorder, Social Emotional Mental Health and ADHD.

You will be required to provide general classroom and individualised behaviour interventions within your role.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour and SEMH in either an Education or Alternative Children’s Provision. Support workers, youth workers, ex prison/ security staff and children’s residential care workers are also encouraged to apply.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will have previous experience managing challenging behaviour in groups and or on a 1:1 basis.
  • Should have experience working with children, young people or young adults with mental health requirements, challenging behaviour and Autism.
  • Available immediately
  • Ideally Team Teach Trained (Not a necessity)
  • Will have a Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/ Child and Adult Workforce) registered to the Update Service. – If you don’t already have a DBS, we can help you apply for one.
  • Up to date Safeguarding Certificate (We offer CPD training should you require it)
  • Will be committed to a long term role.

Are you a sports coach looking for long term work?  Do you have experience working with 8-19 year olds with additional requirements? Look no further- we have the ideal role for you!
GSL Education are currently recruiting for Sports Specialist Teaching Assistants to work at an SEN School- Warwick. This is a Long-term – Permanent opportunity!
 
The role includes:
•    Providing 1:1 behaviour interventions for pupils who have challenging behaviour and SEMH
•    Supporting the Class Teacher and HLTAs with daily tasks and planning.
•    Encourage learning and concertation in lessons
•    Support the teacher with planning, assessments and marking.
•    Identifying triggers of specific behaviours
•    Using sports as a method of de-escalating situations
•    Acting as a positive role model

The ideal candidates will have:
•    Experienced in coaching/working with children or young people with additional needs
•    Experienced working with Challenging Behaviour, Autism and SEMH.
•    Relevant qualifications, qualifications in multiple sports will be an advantage
•    DBS certificate- registered to the update service
•    Immediately available for long term roles
