The role will require you to support both the teacher and the pupils, as well as become involved in the extracurricular activities of the school.

Main Duties

  • To work with identified pupils and small groups of pupils under the supervision of the teacher including the implementation of ILPs and the keeping of up to date records of interventions.
  • Give daily feedback on pupil progress to the class teacher and update supporting documents
    as and when needed.
  • Develop and sustain positive relationships with all pupils, acting as a role model by presenting
    a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Supervise lunchtime provision.
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, including pastoral, social, health, physical hygiene, minor
    first aid and welfare matters.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • At least a Level 2 qualification in Supporting and Learning, with previous experience of providing interventions assistance
  • A full year supporting with a full class is desirable
  • Creative, Passionate and Fun
  • Passionate to grow and develop
  • Valid DBS registered with the update service, or be prepared to apply for a new one
  • Be able to provide references (Work or University based) covering the last two years
  • Phonics experience is also desirable, however training will be given

GSL Education Leicester are working with Special Need schools across Leicestershire that are looking for ambitious SEND Teaching Assistants. The schools cater for children from 4 years to 19 years with a range of learning and physical disabilities.

The SEN Teaching Assistants will

  • have at least 6 months experience working with children who have learning and physical disabilities.
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behavior
  • Team Teach Certificate (desirable)
  • Flexible to work Monday – Friday in school hours.
  • Fully DBS checked (Can have a DBS through GSL if not)
  • Driver and own transport (desirable)

This is position is on a supply basis but can become permanent for the right candidate.

GSL Education are currently working on 2 vacancies at a Large Primary School in Coventry. In their last inspection, the school was graded as “Good with Outstanding Features” by Ofsted.  

The school has 2 open vacancies for experienced Teaching Assistants as well as Graduates who are looking to pursue a career within the education sector or are looking for experience before applying for their PGCE.  

Role 1: Year 2 Teaching Assistant 
Role 2: Year 6 Teaching Assistant 

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting across KS1/KS2 and should be Read Write Inc trained.  

Your main responsibilities will include working 1:1 and taking out small groups to provide Literacy/ Numeracy SATs boosters and Phonics interventions in preparation for Year 2 and Year 6 SATs. You will be required to work closely with the class teacher by supporting marking and planning. You will also be required to perform general TA duties e.g. ensuring that the class is tidy and safe at all times as well as assisting the children at lunchtime.  

The School are looking to Trial ASAP for a September start

We are looking for an experienced Early Years Practitioner /teaching assistant to support children on the Early years framework, this will be full time  for the full academic year  with the view to continue for next academic year. This is an 'Outstanding' school that provide unprecedented support to staff at all levels, there is weekly training provided by experienced SLT, a high achieving school where you can develop and learn more. A school with high standards with pupils well being  at the centre of everything they do. 

Person specification : 

  • Seeking someone who is pro active , resilient , can uphold high standards of school and get the best out of the pupils
  • Previous  Nursery or Early years  experience will be essential and previous experience working with special needs will be desired
  • The successful candidate will have experience of having key children and completing planning for key children
  • You will be willing to work as part of a team  and be flexible to support the needs of the pupils
  • The successful candidate will be able to put the needs of the children at the forefront of what they do , taking into consideration individual special educational needs
  • Able to support children with special education needs and assist in planning tailored   lesson plans
