Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Worthing
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and supportive school in Worthing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEND while developing their skills in a nurturing environment.

About the Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll provide essential support to children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. You'll work closely with teachers and specialists to ensure every child receives the individual attention they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to children with SEND, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities
  • Implement individualized education plans and therapeutic interventions
  • Support children with personal care needs and mobility requirements
  • Use specialist equipment and resources to aid learning and development
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the teaching team
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment where all children can thrive

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in educational, healthcare, or community settings)
  • Understanding of various SEND conditions and appropriate support strategies
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable children
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
