Teaching Assistant
Location: Shoreham
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing school in Shoreham from September 2025. This long-term, full-time opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children succeed across the curriculum.
The school is known for its welcoming staff, strong community values, and commitment to supporting every child’s educational journey. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers to ensure pupils feel encouraged, supported, and engaged in their learning.
Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide support to individual students or small groups under the guidance of the class teacher
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities in line with the curriculum
- Encourage active participation and positive behaviour during lessons
- Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives and events
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent (preferred)
- A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field.
- Previous experience supporting children in a classroom or similar setting
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to engage children effectively
- A good understanding of child development and behaviour management
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
