Job Title: Caretaker

Pay Rate: £120 per day
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and skilled Caretaker to join a vibrant school community in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the school.
About the Role
As a Caretaker in Sheffield, you will be responsible for the general upkeep, safety, and security of the school premises. You’ll work closely with school staff to ensure the environment is clean, safe, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities of Caretaker
- Opening and Closing the School: Ensure the school is securely opened in the morning and properly locked at the end of the day.
- Fire Alarm Management: Conduct regular checks and tests of fire alarms and emergency systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Repair and Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and liaise with external contractors when necessary to maintain the school’s facilities.
- Health & Safety: Monitor and maintain health and safety standards across the site, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Site Security: Ensure the premises are secure at all times, including monitoring access points and responding to any security issues.
- Support School Events: Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment for school events and activities.
Requirements of Caretaker
- Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities role is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair work.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive in approach.
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
