SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity – Tower Hamlets

Location: Tower Hamlets
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £105 per day
Working Hours: 8:30 am – 3:45 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We’re looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Tower Hamlets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a nurturing school that values inclusion, empathy, and personal development.

Your Role as a SEN TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs, including ADHD and self-harming tendencies (especially during morning sessions).

  • Offer flexible support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in the afternoons.

  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional, academic, and social progress.

  • Be willing to support with nappy changing where necessary.

✔️ What We’re Looking For:

  • Prior experience supporting children with SEN or SEMH is highly desirable

  • A positive, proactive, and patient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Confidence to support challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
