Film and Media Teacher
Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Salary: £120 – £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term; Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and passionate Film and Media Teacher to join a vibrant school in Bishop’s Stortford, with opportunities available for an immediate start.

As a Teacher of Film and Media, you have to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, helping students explore film analysis, media theory, and practical production using industry-standard tools. The ideal candidate will combine subject expertise with a flair for innovation and creativity in the classroom.

Film and Media Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Teach Film and Media Studies, including theoretical, analytical, and practical elements.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Support students in using video editing software and media production tools.
  • Guide learners in coursework creation, practical assessments, and exam preparation.
  • Promote digital literacy and media ethics across all age groups.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school’s creative curriculum.

Requirements for Film and Media Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Film and/or Media Studies at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut).
  • A creative, inspiring, and flexible teaching approach.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
