Art Teacher
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: £120 – £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term; Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking for motivated Art Teachers to work across schools in Southend-on-Sea, starting immediately. Whether you're seeking a daily supply or a long-term role, we have flexible opportunities to suit you.

Role Overview:

This role is ideal for teachers who are enthusiastic about visual arts and confident in delivering a broad and engaging curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5. You’ll be guiding students in exploring their creativity, mastering techniques, and expressing themselves through various artistic forms.

Responsibilities of an Art Teacher:

  • Deliver creative and inspiring Art lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a range of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Encourage students to develop their individual artistic voices.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support the development of portfolios for assessments or GCSE/A-Level submission.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support growth.

Teacher of Art Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Art at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for art and a commitment to nurturing student creativity.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
