Science Teacher
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: £120 – £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term; Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teachers to work in supportive secondary schools across Southend-on-Sea. Whether you’re an experienced educator or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we have roles that can help you grow professionally.
This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in delivering engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and who are committed to helping students develop scientific thinking and curiosity at Key Stages 3 to 5.
As a Teacher of Science, your responsibilities will be:
- Deliver high-quality and engaging Science lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
- Teach science-related subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to students of varying abilities.
- Use practical experiments, demonstrations, and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback and support.
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with the department and wider school team.
Science Teacher Requirements:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) qualification or started working as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
- Degree in a Science-related subject.
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4 and/or 5.
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management abilities.
- A commitment to inclusive education and student success.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
