SEMH Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £95 – £105 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM
Are you an experienced and compassionate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant eager to make a real difference? GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to work one-to-one with a child who has complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a supportive school environment in Tower Hamlets.
✏️ What you’ll do:

Provide tailored one-to-one emotional and behavioural support.

Collaborate closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement effective support strategies.

Help the student build coping skills and develop positive social interactions.

Encourage active engagement in learning while supporting emotional well-being.

Maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
✅ What we’re looking for:

Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or in a behavioural support role.

Ability to apply practical strategies to support students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.

Resilient, patient, and proactive attitude.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Passion for helping students build confidence and succeed.

A current, detailed CV covering the last ten years (explaining any gaps).

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for a new check).
