Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Dinnington
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who experience social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with them to understand the root causes of their challenges, empowering them to adopt positive behaviours and fully participate in school life. Your presence will be a vital source of stability, motivation, and care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, delivering personalised intervention sessions.
  • Assist with implementing tailored behaviour management strategies to promote positive change.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and understood.
  • Encourage and model positive social interactions, conflict resolution, and emotional self-regulation.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress closely, keeping accurate records and sharing insights with staff and families.
  • Support students during classroom activities, break times, and transitions throughout the school day.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
  • Strong ability to de-escalate challenging situations and maintain a calm, supportive presence.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and committed to encouraging students to reach their full potential.
  • Passionate about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
