Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary Scale: £83 - £100 per day
Start Date: September 2025
GSL Education are seeking dedicated and qualified Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant, to work at an Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire.

Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised and small-group support to KS2 pupils with SEN.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support with personal development, emotional regulation and wellbeing activities.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment.
Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN or within an alternative provision setting is highly desirable.
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- A calm, empathetic and consistent approach.
- Have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
