Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £95 - £100 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join schools in Chesterfield.
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant (Secondary TA), you will work closely with teaching staff to support students aged 11-16 across various subjects. The position will include working with pupils who require additional learning support due to SEN, and may involve both one-to-one and small group interventions.
Responsibilities of Secondary Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored academic and behavioural support to students with SEN.
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, or emotional regulation.
- Support students in mainstream classes as well as in small group or one-to-one settings.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor and report pupil progress to teaching and SEN staff.
- Encourage independence, resilience, and a positive attitude to learning.
- Assist with supervision during breaks, outings, and off-site activities when required.
Secondary Teaching Assistant (Secondary TA) Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably in an SEN setting as a Secondary Teaching Assistant.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be a driver and have a full UK driving licence is essential to access multiple school sites.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
