Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are offering an exciting opportunity for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming school in Portsmouth. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong desire to make a positive impact on pupils who require additional support in their learning journey.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning barriers. Your role will involve both one-to-one and group support within the classroom, helping to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with diverse SEN requirements, both academically and emotionally
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual support plans
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning space
- Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
- Provide feedback on pupil progress to teaching staff and parents/carers
- Assist with general classroom duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- A calm, nurturing, and patient approach to behaviour management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 in Teaching Support or Health & Social Care are beneficial
- An understanding of various SEN conditions, including autism, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
