About the Role:
As a Religious Education Teacher, you will deliver a comprehensive curriculum that encourages students to explore and understand different religions, belief systems, and ethical frameworks. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons that align with the national curriculum.
- Develop schemes of work that explore religious beliefs, practices, ethics, and philosophical questions.
- Foster a classroom environment where open discussion, respect, and critical thinking are encouraged.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate all learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress to ensure all students achieve their full potential.
- Prepare pupils for internal assessments and external qualifications such as GCSEs.
- Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives, including cross-curricular themes.
Job Requirements:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or be an Early Career Teacher with a relevant degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a closely related field.
- Strong subject knowledge across world religions, ethics, and philosophy.
- Proven classroom experience teaching RE in a UK school setting.
- Confident in promoting respectful debates and inclusive learning experiences.
- Strong behaviour management and differentiated teaching techniques.
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting the holistic development of every student.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
