Full-Time Science Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

Do you have the energy and expertise to bring Science to life in the classroom? A thriving secondary school in Southampton is looking for a motivated and inspiring Science Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2025. Offering a salary between £30,000 and £50,000 per annum, this role presents a fantastic opportunity for career growth, stability, and the chance to make a lasting impact on young learners.

The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and seasoned professionals. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a school tour, providing a first-hand look at the school’s welcoming environment before moving on to a formal interview. Responsibilities of the Science Teacher:

  • Create stimulating and interactive Science lessons that spark curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailoring your teaching to meet a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Design and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring measurable academic progress.
  • Encourage hands-on investigations, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Build a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every learner feels supported and motivated to succeed.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff to develop cross-curricular projects and share best practices.

Requirements of the Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • A passion for Science and the ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a focus on student development.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
