GSL have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to work in a friendly secondary school in Portsmouth. This special school caters for pupils aged 11-16 years who have complex learning difficulties. In addition to their learning difficulties, some pupils have other needs associated with autistic spectrum condition, medical conditions, speech, language and communication difficulties.
A suitable candidate will have experience working with children who have complex learning difficulties or a desire to gain experience within this area. The school are looking for a positive and proactive person to join their friendly and supportive team!
Job role:
- Safeguarding will be your number one priority ensuring the welfare of the pupils.
- Working under the guidance of a teacher supporting small groups of pupils with learning tasks.
- Supporting children to achieve their personalised EHCP targets.
- Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and communication skills.
- Working with children aged 11-16 pupils.
Job specification:
- Full time 8:30am – 3:30pm (Mon – Fri)
- £12.82 - £14.72 p/h
- Temporary to permanent contract
- Location: Portsmouth
- Start date: ASAP
