Art and Design Teacher

Location: Ashington

Salary: £120 - £180 per day

Contract: Full Time

Start Date: September 2024

GSL Education is currently seeking to employ a dedicated and motivated Art and Design Teacher to work across co-educational client schools based in Ashington of Northumberland from September term of 2024.

As an Art and Design Teacher, Your Main Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering dynamic and effective lessons on Art and Design incorporating diverse artistic mediums and techniques.
  • Encouraging students to explore their creativity, refine their artistic skills, and express themselves through art and design.
  • Developing and implementing creative lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
  • Assessing and monitoring students' progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate their artistic growth and keeping their parents updated regarding this.
  • Preparing students for exams and coursework, offering additional support where needed.
  • Establishing an inspiring and inclusive art and design studio environment conducive to artistic exploration and self-expression.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enrich the art curriculum and present students' artwork in exhibitions and displays.

The Successful Art and Design Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications in Art and Design.
  • Have previous experience teaching and training students in the related field.
  • Possess a passion for art and a creative approach to teaching the subject.
  • Have the capability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
  • Be able to empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
