Design Technology Teacher
Location: Selby, North Yorkshire 
Start Date: September 2023
Salary: MPS/UPS; £28,000 - £43,685 per annum
 
GSL Education North Yorkshire branch is looking for Design Technology Teacher to work at highly reputable schools in Selby, North Yorkshire for September 2023 start. This is a great opportunity for a Newly Qualified Teacher or Early Career Teacher looking for their induction to be completed, or to gain more experience before seeking a permanent contract, or for a Fully Qualified Teacher seeking a change in pace, better work-life balance, or simply after a new challenge.

As a Design Technology Teacher your responsibilities will include:
  • Teach across all levels and abilities. Forest follows the new AQA GCSE & A Level Specifications.
  • Develop, maintain and stimulate pupils’ curiosity, interest and enjoyment in Design.
  • Develop pupils’ familiarity, competence and confidence within a safe workshop environment.
  • Provide challenge for every pupil and encourage all pupils to achieve their potential in Design and Technology.
  • Contribute and engage in extra-curricular Design and Technology activities.
  • Share in departmental best practice.
 
Design Technology Teacher Requirements:
  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with a specialism in Design Technology.
  • Recent UK GCSE teaching experience of Product Design, Engineering or Resistant Materials.
  • Be a flexible and dynamic Design Technology Teacher who can adapt teaching and learning styles according to student needs.
  • Be able to provide two relevant teaching references (placements will be accepted for ECTs).
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
