Job Title: Welding Tutor
Salary £95-£135 per day
Location: South Shields
Start Date: Immediately

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a fantastic vocational provision in South Shields. The provision supports the learning of students from South Tyneside who have been identified by their parent schools as vocational learners and also have identified social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

GSL Education Newcastle are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Welding Tutor who will teach the Welding programme taking responsibility for the experience of all learners enrolled. 
The role is a long term supply opportunity which may become permanent and the working hours are 8.30am -3.30pm . Monday – Friday (Term time only).

Duties include:
  • Ensuring  the curriculum is aligned to awarding body requirements and that teaching, learning and assessment strategies used promote a high quality learning experience and facilitate learner progress leading to high levels of retention, achievement and progression.
  • Fantastic planning and delivery of the subject.
  • Great behaviour management skills and the ability to form positive relationships with hard to reach young people.
  • Liaising under the guidance of the Head of Centre with local businesses/enterprises and post-16 providers to ensure the skills being taught are relevant to the local labour demand and promote positive pathways into further training and employment.
  • The ability to direct support assistants where necessary

A child only DBS on the Update Service is a MUST. If you don’t have a DBS, you can process one through GSL Education.
