Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for committed and approachable Behaviour Support to join schools across Sheffield. We would like to hear from the individuals who can establish positive relationships with students, understand the factors that influence behaviour, and provide structured guidance that encourages greater engagement and self-control.
The Behaviour Support role focuses on helping learners overcome behavioural and emotional barriers, develop more constructive responses, and participate positively in both classroom activities and wider school life.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Develop respectful relationships with students requiring additional behavioural guidance
- Recognise early signs of frustration, withdrawal, or escalating behaviour
- Introduce practical strategies that encourage emotional regulation and positive choices
- Assist young people in returning to learning following periods of disruption
- Record significant incidents and monitor changes in engagement or behaviour
- Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to maintain consistent support approaches
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Previous experience in education, mentoring, youth work, care, or a related environment
- Familiarity with positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in demanding situations
- Strong communication skills for building rapport with young people and colleagues
- Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach to individual behavioural needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
