Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you an energetic and motivated Sports Coach with a passion for inspiring young people through physical activity?
GSL Education are looking to recruit enthusiastic Sports Coaches to work in schools across Wakefield (WF4), supporting students both in PE lessons and through wider physical and enrichment activities.
As a Sports Coach, you will play a vital role in promoting physical wellbeing, teamwork, and positive behaviour. You will work closely with teaching staff to support PE delivery, extracurricular activities, and student engagement, helping pupils develop confidence, discipline, and a love for sport.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions to individuals, small groups, and whole classes
- Support PE lessons in line with the school curriculum and key stages
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of extracurricular sports clubs and activities
- Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Support students’ physical, social, and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with PE teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in a coaching or school-based setting
- Background in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A positive, proactive, and reliable approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
