Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield – WF4
Pay: £460–£600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Day - to - Day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A local school in Wakefield (WF4) is seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide hands-on support to pupils with a range of learning needs.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You’ll help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide targeted academic and emotional support

  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation under teacher guidance

  • Contribute to individual support plans and monitor pupil progress

  • Build meaningful relationships that foster confidence and independence

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential

  • Strong communication, patience, and resilience

  • Genuine interest in SEN and child development

  • An up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
