Job Title: Part-Time Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour
Start date: Immediate
Contract type: Part time (15 hours per week - Monday to Friday; 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM)

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the students’ learning and development in a mainstream setting, with a focus on those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEN and behavioural needs in the classroom, helping them engage with the curriculum.
- Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for students who require additional help.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional and social development.
- Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive interactions among students.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and behavioural support strategies.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to work with children who may need additional support.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- A passion for helping students succeed, both academically and emotionally.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or 3 Time Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with SEN or behavioural support would be advantageous.
