Teaching Assistant – Year 6 (Arabic Speaking)
Location: South Manchester
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term (2 Terms – until Summer 2026)
Are you an experienced Upper Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant with strong curriculum knowledge and fluent Arabic language skills? GSL Education Manchester is recruiting for a Year 6 Classroom Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in South Manchester from January 2026 for two full terms.
This role will involve working alongside the class teacher, supporting whole-class teaching, group work, and curriculum delivery, rather than focusing on 1:1 SEN support.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key part in helping to raise attainment and engagement across the class, particularly for pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL). Your fluency in Arabic will be highly valued, helping to bridge language gaps and build strong relationships with children and families.
You will:

Work with the teacher to deliver the Year 6 curriculum, including SATs preparation

Support small groups in English and Maths, helping to reinforce learning

Assist pupils with EAL and help scaffold learning for improved understanding

Provide in-class behaviour support and promote a positive learning environment

Contribute to assessment, classroom organisation, and daily routines
What We’re Looking For:
-
Significant experience supporting learning in Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6

Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written preferred)

Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum, including core subjects and SATs preparation

Confident supporting the whole class under the teacher’s direction

Excellent communication and organisational skills
