As a Teaching Assistant (Secondary), you will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them engage with lessons and overcome barriers to learning. You will work alongside subject teachers in different departments, provide one-to-one or small-group support where needed, and help students stay focused during lessons and transitions.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising classes when their usual teacher is unavailable. You will deliver the work provided, maintain a positive classroom environment and support students to remain focused and engaged throughout each lesson. This is a varied role where your confidence, organisation and ability to manage behaviour will make a real difference to the school day.

This is a school-based classroom support role rather than a sports delivery position. Your sporting or coaching background will be valued for the transferable skills it brings, including behaviour management, resilience, communication and the ability to provide structure. You will support pupils across the classroom, assist with behaviour and engagement, and work alongside teaching staff to help students access their learning.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with the work provided and classroom expectations are maintained. You will provide clear instructions, manage behaviour calmly and confidently, and create a focused environment that allows learning to continue effectively throughout the day.
