Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S12
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Sheffield. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions, help manage behaviour using positive strategies, and create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils can thrive academically and personally.

Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and abilities.
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs and learning plans.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
