GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Student Support Worker to join an all-age SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting in Boston. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact in a specialist environment supporting pupils with complex needs.

Role Overview:
As a Student Support Worker, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning, regulating behaviour, and building emotional resilience. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support throughout the school day.

Responsibilities for Student Support Worker:

  • Support students with SEMH needs across a range of age groups.
  • Help manage challenging behaviour using a calm, consistent approach.
  • Assist in implementing individual behaviour plans and interventions.
  • Promote emotional well-being and positive social interactions.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, offering guidance and encouragement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Maintain clear communication and detailed records on student progress.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Strong understanding of mental health needs in educational settings.
  • Resilient, calm, and empathetic approach to behaviour support.
  • Team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or mental health support are desirable.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
