Job title: SEN Teacher
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start: September 2025
Contract: Permanent/ Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent SEN Teacher to join a supportive and progressive school in Bournemouth, starting in September. The role will come with a nurturing setting tailored for pupils with diverse needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning needs.

About The Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering personalised and accessible learning to a small group of students. You will create a structured, inclusive classroom that fosters academic progress, personal development, and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning profiles.
  • Implement and review EHCPs in collaboration with SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Track and assess pupil progress using both academic and holistic indicators.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and care.
  • Participate in staff training and contribute to the school's inclusive ethos.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in SEN (or willingness to undertake relevant training).
  • Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a school or specialist setting.
  • Knowledge of a range of SEN conditions including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLCN.
  • Ability to differentiate learning to support pupils with complex needs and varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff and families.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
