Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a nurturing school in Poole this September. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone ready to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
About The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, adapted lessons to pupils with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The position will involve teaching smaller class sizes with support from skilled Teaching Assistants and working closely with therapists and family networks.
Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons in line with pupils’ EHCPs and educational targets.
- Establish a safe and structured classroom environment that promotes learning and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with SENCOs, support staff, and external professionals to meet each learner’s unique needs.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils, promoting self-confidence and independence.
- Use a range of behaviour management and communication strategies to engage learners effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings and reports.
The successful candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching students with SEN in a specialist or mainstream setting.
- Knowledge of a range of SEN conditions including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLCN.
- Ability to differentiate learning to support pupils with complex needs and varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff and families.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
