SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

If so, GSL Education are currently seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join schools based in Wakefield (WF4). This role offers the opportunity to transform lives by creating positive educational experiences for students who face behavioural and emotional challenges.
As a SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a personalised and engaging curriculum that supports the development of students academically, socially and emotionally. You’ll work closely with specialist teams to create a nurturing learning environment and implement strategies tailored to each student’s individual needs.
Responsibilities of an SEMH Teacher:
- Deliver engaging lessons adapted to meet the needs of learners with SEMH
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Provide a structured and positive learning environment
- Implement behaviour support plans effectively
- Promote emotional regulation, self-esteem and resilience in pupils
- Liaise with support staff, parents/carers and external professionals
- Create individual learning targets and monitor pupil progress
SEMH Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with children with SEMH, behaviour needs or in alternative provision as an SEMH Teacher
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, SEND strategies and behaviour management
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
