SEN Teacher
Location:
Sheffield
Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SEN Teacher to work in specialist and mainstream settings in Sheffield. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced teacher to provide tailored education that supports academic, emotional and social development.

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering personalised learning to pupils with special educational needs. This includes working with children with a range of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your Responsibilities as a SEN Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to individual learning needs
  • Develop and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and parents/carers
  • Use a range of strategies to manage behaviour effectively
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
  • Monitor and record pupil progress accurately
  • Provide regular feedback to all stakeholders

Requirements for SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, either in specialist or mainstream settings
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and current educational frameworks
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate effectively and use a range of learning tools
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
