Full-Time Humanities Teacher – Basingstoke, Hampshire

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Basingstoke. Starting in September 2025, this full-time position offers a competitive salary of £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
This exciting opportunity is open to both experienced educators and Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) who are ready to make a real difference. The school is happy to offer a tour ahead of a more formal interview process, with interviews scheduled to take place over the coming weeks.
Humanities Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Humanities subjects, such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and curiosity.
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
- Collaborate with colleagues in planning, moderation, and curriculum development.
- Uphold high standards of classroom behaviour and student engagement.
- Contribute to school life through extracurricular clubs or enrichment activities.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; ECTs are welcome to apply.
- Specialism in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, or Religious Studies).
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver the curriculum effectively.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and continuous professional development.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
