Full-Time Science Teacher – Basingstoke, Hampshire

GSL Education are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Basingstoke. This vital role begins in September 2025, offering a rewarding annual salary between £30,000 and £50,000 depending on experience. The school is welcoming applications from both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) eager to develop in a supportive environment.
About the Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will take on full classroom responsibilities including planning, teaching, assessment, and report writing. You will play a key role in fostering scientific curiosity and helping students develop strong analytical and investigative skills across the science curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
- Inspire students to think critically and develop a love for scientific inquiry.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing tailored support to enable academic success.
- Participate in school activities, parents' evenings, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Work effectively with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs are encouraged to apply.
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding lessons and supporting student progress.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners.
- A passion for education and the ability to motivate students of varying abilities.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
