Job Title: Math Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Could you help students see Mathematics as more than numbers and give them the confidence to reason, question, and solve problems independently?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting knowledgeable and committed Mathematics Teacher for vibrant schools across Barnsley. We would like to hear from qualified educators who can make mathematical concepts accessible, adapt teaching to different levels of ability, and encourage students to approach challenging problems with confidence.
The Maths Teacher will deliver structured learning across the Mathematics curriculum, developing students’ numerical fluency, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and preparation for formal assessments.
Math Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan curriculum-aligned Mathematics lessons for relevant key stages
- Illustrate difficult concepts using clear methods, examples, and practical applications
- Develop students’ reasoning through progressively challenging problem-solving tasks
- Adjust lesson content and activities according to individual levels of understanding
- Analyse assessment results to identify gaps and plan appropriate interventions
- Prepare examination classes through revision activities and focused academic support
Math Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Secure knowledge of the secondary Mathematics curriculum and assessment expectations
- Experience teaching Mathematics to secondary-aged learners or similar setting
- Ability to communicate numerical and abstract concepts in a clear, accessible manner
- Effective lesson planning, assessment, organisation, and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
