Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay rate: £460 - £650 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Support schools in maintaining continuity of learning and a positive classroom environment!
GSL Education are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Sheffield, ensuring lessons run smoothly in the absence of teaching staff.
In this role, you will supervise pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and support students in staying focused and engaged throughout the school day.
About the role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will play a vital role in supporting schools by delivering prepared lesson content and maintaining a structured, calm learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience or progress into teaching.
Key responsibilities of Cover Supervisors:
- Supervise lessons using work set by teaching staff
- Maintain strong classroom behaviour and a positive atmosphere
- Ensure pupils remain on task and complete assigned work
- Provide support and guidance where necessary
- Report back to teaching staff on progress and any issues
- Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures
What we are looking for
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confidence leading a classroom independently
- A flexible, organised, and professional approach
- Interest in working within education

- Provide an up-to-date CV with two recent references
- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
