Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rotherham. This fulfilling role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping young learners overcome challenges, gain confidence, and develop key life and academic skills.
In this role of SEMH TA, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Work with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement tailored support plans.
- Promote pupils’ social skills, self-regulation, and positive learning behaviours.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff to inform support.
Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant role:
- Previous experience supporting pupils or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (preferred).
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
