Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Anston
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing school in Anston, offering you the chance to empower young learners, build their self-esteem, and guide them through personal and academic challenges.
As an SEMH TA, you will:
- Provide bespoke one-to-one and group-based support for pupils presenting with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.
- Establish a safe, orderly, and encouraging learning space that promotes emotional stability and engagement.
- Liaise with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement effective behavioural and educational strategies.
- Support pupils in developing resilience, confidence, and appropriate social behaviours.
- Manage behavioural challenges calmly and consistently through restorative and supportive approaches.
- Monitor pupil outcomes and report progress to relevant staff to inform ongoing provision.
Requirements for the SEMH Teaching Assistant role:
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural difficulties, ideally within a school or care setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and behaviour management skills.
- A compassionate, calm, and motivated approach to supporting learners with complex needs.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any employment gaps.
